Fall Preview Post: The Cloud

Fall Preview Post: The Cloud

I’m not sure about you, but for the folks here at DataDirect, the Fall is flying by! And that means we’re getting closer to some exciting product updates. Perhaps you saw my recent preview blog post on Performance Tools, which looked at the need for improved software performance. We’ll certainly be focusing on enhanced performance in our newest product launches, and we’re excited to share those updates with you soon!

Another growth area for us is the cloud. As more enterprise data is stored in the cloud rather than on-premise, cloud connectivity has become an increasingly important component of today’s extended enterprise data architecture. As a result, cloud connectivity is a top priority for our team and an offering we plan to expand on following the success of our well-received Salesforce ODBC driver.

One particular area that we’re paying close attention to in terms of cloud connectivity is breadth of usability. When a cloud connectivity solution is portable, a greater number of on-premise applications are able to use it. This means that more value can be derived from cloud-based data. And really, helping organizations derive that value is the whole point, as far as we’re concerned! Stay tuned for our upcoming product announcements, which will help boost performance, connect to the cloud and increase usability for our customers.
